Search and Destroy Vintage T-Shirt
This shirt is our first “vintage” style shirt. As such, we wanted to once again tip our cap to our brothers from the Vietnam era. Like our MMA shirts, it has an athletic fit, but is also enzyme washed to make the material super comfortable and very thin. It is a 60/40 Cotton and Polyester blend.
The magic that is the air assault mission began in the Vietnam War with the advent of the helicopter. Suddenly, we had the ability to show up on the enemy’s doorstep and mosey on in without calling ahead or even bothering to knock. Some people thought this was extremely rude and unfair. These people were called hippies. They smelled, and not of rich mahogany.
The generals at the time, not realizing they were fighting the first war that was going to be played out on television in front of the entire world, awesomely, and with no regard for being politically correct, called these “search and destroy” missions. While the origins of this naming convention are still unknown, Ranger Up’s historical scholars believe it arrived because our forces would “search” for and “destroy” the enemy.
This shirt is unbelievably awesome for several reasons:
1) It pays homage to our brothers in Vietnam who often found themselves in brutal and hard fought battles seconds after stepping off the birds as they dove time and time again right into the hearts of the enemy strongholds.
2) It has a giant cobra on it, and that’s just cool.
3) It says “Search and Destroy” on it. Which, in addition to being way more awesome than today’s “tactical insertion” jargon, we can also guarantee with 100% certainty that this will make all the neo-hippies hate you…a lot.
4) It is vintage washed, looks incredible, and really is ridiculously comfortable.
5) Lightning. Bolts.
