We're Looking for a Few Good Writers!

Submit articles to business@rangerup.com!!!

Our first writing contest went extremely well - in fact - beyond expectations. When we added Tommy Batboy to the mix, we knew we were picking up a great writer - we didn't know we would end up with our new Sales Guy and a great MMA resource. Tommy is now such an invaluable member of the Ranger Up team, that we're hoping to find another loud, cocky a-hole to join the team.

Understand, that despite Tommy's expanded duties, we're only looking for a WRITER right now!!!

Ranger Up is looking for at least one and preferably two or three soldiers, marines, airmen, coastguardsmen, sailors, firemen, or cops (past or present) to contribute articles to the website. Down the road, once you have a few articles under your belt, you can have some artistic license with what you write about, but to start, we're looking for help with Douche of the Week, since there are so many people that are freakin' worthy.

What we're looking for in a writer:

1) Good writing. Doesn't have to be Bill Shakespeare, but you have to be able to get your point across.

2) Biting sarcasm and humor. We're assholes and we're looking for more assholes. Peruse our articles before you submit. In the last contest we received articles from great writers, but they belonged in a different venue.

3) Factual writing.

4) Non-partisan - we don't want to push anyone's political agenda - we are pro-troops, pro-firemen, and pro-cops - period. Bashing politicians is definitely free game, but only as it relates to how their actions affect the armed forces or those that serve domestically.

5) Writing with some frequency. Once a week would be phenomenal. Twice a month is our expectation.

What you get out of it:

We kind of work like this - people help us out, they kick ass for us for a while, and we reward them - either with free gear, cash, or in the case of extreme ass-kicking (like two of our current employees), we find a way to bring you on as a more permanent member of the team. We're not promising anything, so if you write for us, do it because you want to, you believe in what we do, and you think its cool to get your ideas in front of hundreds of thousands of patriots every month.

How we will pick:

1) You submit an article that you think is appropriate for Ranger Up by 1 November.

2) We get drunk that night and go through all of them and pick the ones that are in the running.

3) We post them online.

4) The Ranger Up fans vote on who they want to keep around.

5) We ask the top couple of folks to join the team.

Is it a perfect plan? Yes - yes it is.
